SUMMARY:
This job level is considered a skilled position. An individual is expected to be familiar in the operation of all-standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the Sandblast/Painting field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be knowledgeable in the areas of blasting equipment, spray pumps, and ventilation systems. Must be able to Sandblast and Paint in a confined space. Must be knowledgeable with environmental condition(s) prior to paint application. Familiar with standard items for surface preparation and coating procedures. Must have good mathematical skills to apply.
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required with two years technical graduate in Sandblasting/Painting Technology or in related area or three years continuous work experience in related field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outdoors and occasionally work in confined spaces. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles and wet and/or humid conditions.

SPECIFIC SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED & DEVELOPED TO EXCEL TO SANDBLAST/PAINTER LEVEL I:

Must have strong mathematical skills to perform the duties of a Sandblast/Painter.

Able to blast and paint internal and external.
-
Must be able to perform sandblasting and painting using all techniques, procedures and strategies to accomplish the job.

Able to maintain, troubleshoots and repairs parts.
-
Must be able to operate sandblasting and painting machines.
-
Able to perform material handling and processes.
-
Must be able to obtain leadership skills to assist with crew.

After two (2) years training as a Sandblast/Painter II the individual will be evaluated by their work performance, work habits, attitude, and attendance. After passing evaluation employee may be promoted to next level (Sandblast/Painter I). Salary will commensurate with position and experience.
