ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to read basic blueprint, sketches, and symbols.
Must have knowledge of gas freeing and ventilation procedures.
Able to complete tests for flush and hydro systems. Must have good math skills.

An individual is expected to read and interpret working drawings and sketches.
Perform basic mechanical processes in every components or parts to be disassembled or assembled for repair.
Operate large machines such as pipe bending and drill presses.
It is expected that this job level have at least one certification and be able to fit reasonably well and understand general pipefitting procedures along with being able to assist in layout.
Shows and demonstrates good quality of work and understands safety rules.
Shows initiative to become a “Gas Free Competent Person” and or a “Designated Safety Representative” (DSR).
Handle and identify pipe shop materials and their uses.
Practice proper cutting and basic welding.
Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding.
Practice good housekeeping and observe safety precautions at all times.
Welder Test and Requirements
Silver Brazing 2” pipe in restricted positions
S1 to S1
Must pass 6” pipe in the 6G position test
You will be required to complete a weld test on a schedule 80 6” pipe with backing ring using SMAW (1/8" 7018 rods).
You MUST have the following proper equipment to complete your test: Chipping Hammer, Gloves, 4" Grinder, Hood, Safety Glasses, Steel-toed Boots, Wire Brush and Wire Pliers. Non-flammable arms and upper body coverage attire (leathers, denim jacket, long sleeve shirt) is required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required with two years technical graduate in Pipefitting Technology or in related area or three years continuous work experience in related field.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works around high & low-pressure piping-systems. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet, hot and humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and may occasionally be loud.
