SUMMARY:
Operates a vehicle to deliver and transport material, supplies and equipment. Must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a “satisfactory” driving record.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives truck with capacity to the GVW to transport material, and supplies to and from specified destinations, or within industrial areas: Verifies load against shipping papers. Drives truck to destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area. Accepts receipts for load picked up. Collects payments for goods delivered and for delivery charges. May maintain telephone or radio contact with foreman or supervisor.

 

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
CDL Class A or B (depending on the vehicle used) License, Hazard Endorsements, Forklift Certifications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an outdoor environment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
