SUMMARY:
This job level is considered to be a highly skilled position. The QA Inspector will be responsible for ensuring quality and integrity for our production and fabrication processes. This position will involve inspecting production welds and braze, conducting visual and dimensional inspections, monitoring welders and brazers, and ensuring quality standards are met. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience with welding and brazing processes, codes, and standards is a must.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Good mathematical skills and some knowledge in chemistry in materials, ferrous & non-ferrous metal (metallurgy).
Knowledgeable in metrology and instrumentation.
Knowledgeable in cutting designs and their applications.
Proficient in blueprint reading and engineering work operations.
Familiarity with design and fabrication of jigs, and fixtures for line boring would be an advantage.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Monitor welding and brazing processes and ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
Knowledgeable in quality and production control, as well as production analysis.
Ensure welding and brazing procedures and worker qualifications are up to date.
Ensure that all welding and brazing personnel are properly trained and certified.
Performs and prepare reports of inspection results and maintain records of inspections.
Able to complete required reporting to Management, as well as to Government or Commercial customers.
Must have excellent written and communication skills, as well as computer working skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
The individual must have a working knowledge of portable document format software in regards to simple file conversion, file securement and signatures, such as Adobe PDF.
Must be able to manage people with the ability to handle stress and employee relations.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of two years’ experience in welding. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of welding process and techniques. Possess a certification from an accredited welding school or association. Familiar with quality control procedures and safety regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
