ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to set-up projects with proper hand and power tools required for the tasks with minimal supervision. Able to assists with the disassembly of parts and components, then to identify the parts and components to be replaced. Performs all work assignments with good housekeeping and safety precaution skills. Able to perform skills of bench works such as: laying out, scribing of arcs and circles, cutting, filing, drilling and grinding. Begin to apply basic skills of arc and oxy-acetylene welding. Able to apply basic mathematical skills when assists with assignments. Must have basic skills measuring in the Metric and English Systems. Acquire knowledge in the operations and use of milling machine, lathes and shapers. The employer has the right to revise this job description at any time. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:
An individual is expected to read and interpret working drawings and sketches.
Perform basic mechanical processes in every components or parts to be disassembled or assembled for repair.
Operate lathe machine such as centering, tool bit grinding, plain turning, facing, spot facing, boring and counter boring, tapering and threading.
Operate a milling machine to perform plain or angular shaping, contour and keyway cutting.
Operate a shaper machine to perform plain or angular shaping, contour and keyway cutting.
Handle precision measuring tools, read and affair accuracy of +0.005 in machining.
Handle and identify machine shop materials and their uses.
Compute and practice proper R.P.M., cutting speeds and feeds.
Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding.
Practice good housekeeping and observe safety precautions at all times.
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required. At least one year work experience in the Machine Shop Trade or acquired 1,920 Hours of apprenticeship training in Machinist Technology.
