Operates a vehicle to deliver and transport material, supplies and equipment. Must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a “satisfactory” driving record.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives truck with capacity to the GVW to transport material and supplies to and from specified destinations, or within industrial areas. Verifies load against shipping papers. Drives truck to destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area. Accepts receipts for load picked up. Collects payments for goods delivered and for delivery charges. Often times you will be required to deliver or pick up small loads using a standard company vehicle. Must be able to independently shop and pick up supplies. Must maintain telephone contact with foreman, supervisor or manager. This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
